Irish Chistmas Storms
Irish History From The Annals

Wind storms in Ireland around Christmas are not unusual.

Wind storms around Christmas that uproot trees and destroy buildings are not unusual in Ireland. The Annals of the Four Masters record a storm in the year 1528 just before Christmas that caused widespread damage.

A great wind arose on the Friday before Christmas, which prostrated a great number of trees throughout Ireland, threw down many stone and wooden buildings, destroyed the Mur of the monastery of Donegal, and swept away, sank, and wrecked many vessels.
