Moby Dick 1956


The 1956 version of Moby Dick was directed by John Huston, from a Ray Bradbury Screenplay, and starred Gregory Peck, Orson Welles and Richard Basehart with Noel Purcell.



Although much of the location filming took place in Spain the town of Youghal, Co. Cork was used in 1954 as a standin for New Bedford Massachusetts. Linehans pub, later renamed Moby Dick’s was used as was the town harbour and the lighthouse.
